Staying apart while coming together is the attitude that Tourism Timmins is taking towards Canada Day celebrations being all online this year.
Coordinator Marnie Lapierre says all the speeches and entertainment will be streamed starting early Wednesday morning.
“Going forward with pre-recorded segments, this allows anyone to start the day at 7:00am or go right through to midnight if they wish,” she notes.
It will be a curated Youtube playlist, so you can select the segments that you want to see.
Lapierre is also trying to drum up more interest in the yard decorating contest. All you have to do is submit a photo of your decked-out yard by Tuesday at 4:00pm.
“I’m hoping more people will jump on the bandwagon and decorate their yards in the Canadian red and white and submit them for consideration for the contest or just share their patriotism.”
Details on all the features and where to find them are here and here.
