News Timmins Symphony Orchestra moves ‘We Love Music Marathon’ online this year SHARE ON: Bob McIntyre, staff Friday, Jun. 19th, 2020 Here’s something a little different for your soundtrack to tomorrow’s gardening or just relaxing by the pool: The Timmins Symphony Orchestra’s “We Love Music Marathon”. Director Josh Wood says the annual event had to transition to the TSO’s Facebook page this year, due to COVID-19. So it will be livestreaming all the performances submitted from every part of the organization, and musicians of all ages. Wood says it should last three or four hours. “I was totally blown away by the number of submissions that we got,” he comments. “You never know how people are going to react in this sort of situation, but the response has been pretty overwhelming.” The Facebook page also has a link to donating money to the orchestra. Wood says the fundraising aspect is important, but not the only one. “I would say it’s more important for us to stay engaged with the community and stay engaged with the people in our organization, give us something to do, something to look forward to and you know, have little bit of fun, too.” You don’t need to have your own Facebook page to watch and/or listen. Just Google “Timmins Symphony Orchestra,” and it will give you a link to the TSO page.
