News Timmins students win first at speaking competition SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Monday, Apr. 13th, 2015 The District Public Speaking competition was held in Kapuskasing on Saturday afternoon at the Legion. Representatives from Hornepayne to Temagami presented their speeches. In first place in the Grade 1-3 was Samuel Poitras from Timmins with second place Jared Duncan from Kapuskasing. In first place in Grade 4-6 Kamelia Labelle from Timmins with Audree Boudreault from Kirkland Lake coming in second. In Grade 7-9 first place was Carlee Weidhass of Kapuskasing and in second Maren Steele of Timmins. In Grade 10-12 Kalyla Dumais of Hearst was first with Andrea Clermont from Kirkland Lake in second. The Area competition is going to be held in Kapuskasing on Saturday.
