Southern Ontario can benefit from the Ring of Fire as much as the North, something that PC Leadership Candidate Christine Elliott is bringing awareness too.
Elliott was in Timmins last week as part of a campaign tour, where she spoke with The Moose about the stalled chromite project.
She says everyone needs to get together to develop a plan.
“I’m frustrated and disappointed, as I’m sure people in the North are,” says Elliott. “The Liberals have failed to do anything concrete to really move this project along, and get it to its full development.”
“I know that Noront is doing what they can to develop it, but I think it’s incumbent on the provincial government to come to the table with some real solutions to help that development be pursued.”
Elliott says all the Liberals have done is chase away Cliffs, which is a step in the wrong direction.
