News Police reminding drivers of a basic law: stop for the school bus SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Friday, Apr. 10th, 2015 Timmins Police is asking drivers to pay attention around school buses. There have been two close calls in the past two weeks, prompting the reminder. A car was rear ended at the end of March because the driver didn’t notice they were stopped for the bus. On Wednesday, someone drove right past the stopped bus. It’s almost $500 in fines and six demerit points. The law states that all drivers have to stop for the bus when the lights are flashing and the arm is down.
