The North hasn’t developed its full potential, says PC Leadership hopeful Christine Elliott. Elliott was in Timmins this week as part of her campaign tour.
She says the government needs to help the North grow in mining and forestry.
“That’s a whole combination of factors,” says Elliott. “From energy prices, to road construction and maintenance, and infrastructure investments.”
She says the most important thing, however, is to stop devising solutions for the north, from Southern Ontario.
“Solutions for the North must be made in conjunction with the people of the North.”
