City Hall to partially reopen for payments

Timmins City Hall is partially reopening to the public next Wednesday.

Chief administrative officer Dave Landers says it’s starting the process of a total reopening.

“At first, we’re just going to start off taking payments for water and tax bills,” he explains, “and then we’ll slowly introduce things like parking fines, provincial offences and other payments afterwards.”

“We’ll be accepting debit payments only.  That would be something we may look to reintroduce in the future or if it’s working effectively, then we would just continue with debit payments or look at other online options as well.”

Only three people will be allowed inside at one time.  Others will line up outside, all while maintaining six feet of physical distance.
