Another major event in our area has also decided to postpone until next year. Officials of Smooth Truck Fest announced on social media that they won’t be holding their 15th annual event this August due to COVID-19. Pride and Booster Chairman Denise Pelletier says they know it will be an enormous disappointment for many people but felt the situation with public health and safety was the number one concern. She added that they are committed to hosting an exciting event in 2021. Smooth Truck Fest joins the Porquis Music Festival, Rock on the River and the Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival as all cancelling this summer due to coronavirus. With the state of emergency still in place by the Provincial Government there has been concern whether large public gatherings will be allowed by August.
