Mattagami River reaches warning level

The rain the past couple of days has melted much of the snow that was left in our yards and started to green things up.  It’s also forced the level of the Mattagami River so high, a flood warning is in effect.

The Timmins Flood Advisory Committee says it’s difficult to predict how high the water will go.  It depends on the weather.

With the warning in place, it’s advising anyone with unsecured equipment and material along the river to move it out of harm’s way.

The Mattagami River boat launch, Sun., May 3, 2020.
