Winter survival training kicks off this weekend for TPSAR

Winter survival training is being put to the test this weekend for the Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue team.

Students have gone through 10 weeks of class and field training to prep them for the annual event.

They will be dropped off in the bush north of Highway 655.

They will have to find their own food, make their own shelter, and take part in a night navigation exercise.

The point is to train the students for future challenges.
