One of three finalists for a young professional business award says it came as a surprise to her. Rachel Pessah suspects that a client nominated her.
All of the finalists for the 2020 Nova Business Awards were officially announced at a Timmins Chamber of Commerce lunch on Friday.
Rachel Pessah owns Bright Spot Therapy Services. It provides speech language pathology, occupational therapy and autism assessment.
Pessah says she recognizes the importance of being nominated.
“I think it’s important to encourage other young people to get into business and so I love that that encourages that,” she tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.
She also believes that the best time to start your own business is when you’re young.
“I think you have a lot more opportunities, you’re maybe not as stuck in a long term plan and so I think trying out different things and experimenting I think when you’re young, that’s the best time to do it.”
Awards in 15 categories will be presented on May 7th at the Nova Awards gala. This year’s theme is “Camp Nova”. Click here for a full list of finalists.
