A final City of Timmins budget isn’t set yet, but that doesn’t mean interim tax bills aren’t on their way.

At Tuesday’s council meeting, finance director Natalie Moore asked for and got permission to send out bills for the first portion of your 2020 property tax.

“It’s an annual bylaw that we approve early in the year to allow us to be able to issue the interim bills in February,” Moore outlined. “They’re issued early February and the due date is February 28th..”

Also at this week’s meeting, council endorsed continuing to be a host community for First Nations that will be evacuated by floods or forest fires this year.
