The annual Porquis Rock and Bluesfest is changing its name.

From now on, it will be known as the Porquis Music Festival.

Porquis Recreation Association president Ken Cosens says it’s an attempt to diversify its audience and its musical offerings.

“We’re doing some blues.  We’re doing some country, rock, “ he outlines. “whatever, any kind of diversified music is going to go.”

It’s still early to talk about acts that will be performing, although Cosens says TawConnors will do a two-hour tribute to his father, Stompin’ Tom.

The Porquis Music Festival is set for July 17th, 18th and 19th.

“Pricing is going to be basically like last year, maybe a couple bucks difference here and there,” Cosens points out, “but on the most, it’ll be pretty much the same.”
