A piece of local history coming to the Timmins Museum

The Timmins Museum is set to get a piece of Timmins history today. Gerry Charbonneau, formerly from Tweed and Hickory, is donating a painting from the 1940’s.

It hung in the store, and is of Third Avenue.

Museum Curator, Karen Bachmann, says it is painted by someone who worked in the art department of Bucovetsky’s. They had their own art department for windows and signage.

She says someone found an old photograph of Timmins, and they painted it from there.

The museum is accepting the donation on Thursday.

Charbonneau and Bachmann will be on hand to discuss the history of the painting and its significance to Timmins.
