Failing grade for Ring of Fire progress, or lack thereof

The lack of progress at the Ring of Fire is getting a failing grade from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber released their report yesterday, saying there is no infrastructure plan in place among other issues. However, it wasn’t all bad news. The Chamber says the $1 billion transportation commitment from the government is an important step, but that infrastructure still needs to be built.

Michael Mantha, the NDP Mines Critic, is pointing the finger at the Wynne government. He says Wynne has done nothing since Cliffs pulled out of the project. He says she is failing the North, who is depending on the thousands of jobs the Ring of Fire creates. He is saying all she has to show for the Ring of Fire is a board of four bureaucrats and more promises.
