Mountjoy Farmers Market going strong into Fall, two Saturdays left

There’s some confusion among people in Timmins who love to shop at outdoor food markets.

The Downtown Urban Park Market is closed for the season.  The Mountjoy Farmers Market is not.

“The Mountjoy Farmers Market runs from Canada Day to the Thanksgiving weekend,” chairman Garnet Wilcox reminds us.

So there are two Saturdays left for the Mountjoy market at Participark, counting tomorrow.

“We’ll have things like pumpkins, Sunrise Orchards is going to be bringing their wide selection of apples and we’re continuing on with having a couple of new junior vendors again,” says Wilcox.

And next week: turkeys.

Wilcox adds that crafters who set up tables have moved into a fall and Thanksgiving motif.

“And yes, some Halloween stuff as well,” he notes.  “We have things like Halloween trick or treating bags.  I’ve seen Halloween and Thanksgiving kind of fall wreaths being made by another vendor.”

The Mountjoy Farmers Market operates Saturdays from 9:00am until 1:00pm
