Mountjoy River bridge on Papakomeka Road will be closed on Monday

Here’s a heads-up for frequent travellers down Pine Street South, especially where it becomes Papakomeka Road.  You’ll have to take a more scenic route on Monday.

“The bridge at Mountjoy River at Kilometre 11 will be closed for maintenance work”, says MNRF integrated management technical specialist Derek Farrer.

“If you’re coming from Timmins, please take Dalton Rd. to the Price Main Road, which then will connect back into Papakomeka Road. Or if you’re coming south from South Porcupine, you can take the Langmuir Road to Stringers Road, also known as Forks River Road, down to the Matachewan Road, and that will also put you out on to Papakomeka Road.”

The work is expected to start at daybreak Monday, and the bridge is expected to be re-opened by Tuesday.
