Tickets for first Timmins Film Festival almost sold out

For a first-time effort, the Timmins Film Festival is already proving to be popular.

All ticket packages for the weekend of November 8th to 10th are sold out, and according to Timmins Film Society board member Paul Charette, there’s a very limited number of single tickets remaining.

“It’s unbelievable how much support we’ve received from the city and surrounding areas,” he enthuses.

Charette has a theory about many of the ticket buyers.  He thinks they’re people who love movie festival fare, but can’t or won’t travel to festivals in Sudbury or Toronto.

“You know, I think they’re excited too, because now they don’t have to just see it (and say) ‘Oh well, okay, they’re having it there and I can’t go.’ It’s ‘We’ve got one here now.’”

The Timmins Film Festival features a red carpet reception at the museum on its first night – Friday, November 8th.
