The field started with 2,500 cute little yellow rubber ducks being dropped off the Mattagami River bridge, during Sunday’s finale of the Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival. The first three to cross the finish line — actually a funnel in the middle of a big hose stretched across the river — won cash for the humans who had the corresponding numbers.
