Better late than never. The splash pad at Hollinger Park should be open in time for the weekend.
That’s later than earlier expected. A valve problem delayed the opening.
City maintenance supervisor Gerry Paquette tells My Timmins Now Dot Com that the faulty valves are being replaced.
“Water’s going to be turned on. We’re going to run it through its cycle,” Paquette explains. “We should have it operational by end of day Friday.”
The new swings and play structures are also expected to be open then, with construction fencing being removed.
“However, we will be installing temporary snowfencing on the interior of the walkway,” Paquette notes, “ just to keep the people off the new grass, because it’s not ready for foot traffic at this time.”
