The Timmins Festival and Events Committee and the Chamber of Commerce are giving you permission to defy the dress code at work on Friday.
To promote Rock on the River at the end of this month, they’re encouraging employers to allow workers to wear their favourite rock band T-shirts on Friday.
Carmen Swartz – the Chamber’s business services manager – says there’s great incentive – other than just being able to wear the shirts for a day.
“The incentive is that those businesses who choose to participate by putting the hashtag on their posts on social media will be entered to win tickets to Rock on the River, July 26th, 27th,”she says.
The Chamber is lending its “Find it in Timmins” hashtag to the promotion. Swartz says that’s to promote buying locally.
“The more we support our business community,” she notes, ”the more they’re able to give to great events like Rock on the River.”
