These paramedics with Cochrane District EMS are spending the day riding stationary bikes in front of their headquarters on Algonquin Boulevard. They're raising money for the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation, the aim of which is to build a monument in Ottawa to paramedics who died in the line of duty. Left to right are Stacy Lacelle, Jenny Papineau, Commander Dan Contant, , Carrie Byrnes and Deputy Chief Marc Renaud. Helping draw attention to the event with a sign is Alex Papineau. Four of these medics will ride from Toronto to Ottawa in September, along with medics from across Ontario. Today's stationary ride lasts until 5:00pm. They're accepting donations, and selling swag. The proceeds of food sales onsite will also go to the foundation.
