News Closing Highway 655 is unacceptable, says NEOMA SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Feb. 24th, 2015 Closing Highway 655 is not sitting well with NEOMA. The idea had been suggested by the MTO, because the Jocko Creek Culvert needs to be repaired. However, the North Eastern Municipal Association says that’s not realistic, because the detour could be over 200 km. The association is saying 655 is a major route, not only to the hospital, but to cottages and festivals. Instead, the group is suggesting a temporary bridge is installed while the construction happens. They are also suggesting the work happen as soon as possible, instead of in the summer as originally planned.
