Local businesses can get expansion help from the TDC

Local businesses have an ally in town, one that many don’t know about. The Timmins Economic Development Corporation is all about helping companies grow. They have two main sectors, business and community development. Brenda Camirand (cam-ah-rand), the Director of Business Development, says the TDC will not only help existing businesses, they try to bring more companies into Timmins.

The other part of the TDC is a community economic development, which Director Cathy Ellis says targets non-profits.

The Mountjoy Farmer’s Market and Kamiskotia are among the not for profits they work with.

The TDC has been successful in this venture. Among their success stories is getting the Porcupine Ski Runners one-million dollars for a new chalet. Business owners can go to the TDC for help with financial planning and strategy.

Local companies can use the TDC as a resource to help expand their business at no cost. They will help with the financial, strategy, and outreach aspects of the business.
