The Timmins Police Service is encouraging anyone who’s eligible… to donate blood at a Canadian Blood Services clinic Tuesday and Wednesday at St. Dominique Church on Norman Street.
Communications coordinator Marc Depatie says there is high demand for blood in the summer. As first responder, officers at accident scenes see the need firsthand.
“Who better to send the message that we all have to do what we can if we’re physically able to provide these vital substances to persons in dire need, then we should all do our part.”
Depatie says officers don’t only talk the talk, they walk the walk.
“We’ve got a number of officers who are lifelong members of the fraternity of blood donors,” he boasts. “They take part as often as they can, and they’re doing it to inspire other, young officers to get involved in this sort of thing.”
