The Timmins Police drug unit has gone public with the results of three simultaneous drug raids carried out last Tuesday.
They displayed some of what they seized for media.
Staff Sergeant Mark Vallier says the seizures were made at two homes on Birch St. and one on Kimberley Ave.
“Over 11,000 methamphetamine tablets, a little bit over 1,400 grams of cocaine, and just under $45,000 in cash brings the total street value of the cash and the street drugs seized to almost $250,000,” says Vallier.

A shotgun and a set of brass knuckles were seized. Six people are charged with various drug and proceeds-of-crime offences, as well as possession of a prohibited weapon.
Insp. Darren Dinel says the seized drugs pose serious community safety concerns, including addiction and health issues.
“These drugs are also contributing factors in other criminal behaviour, including violence and the use of weapons,” he told reporters. “We take these issues very seriously and make every attempt to prevent crimes before they take place. However, there are people that choose not to heed those warnings.”
Because Timmins Police wanted the raids to all happen at the same time, they called in OPP officers and their canine unit.
