Mudslingin’ to end hunger

Northern College is creating hand made pottery bowls for a good cause. The 150 bowls are going to be featured at this year’s Empty Bowls Luncheon and Silent Auction. They will be filled with locally made soup. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to end hunger, and this will be their fourth event in Timmins. The fundraiser is in support of the Anti-Hunger Coalition, and is happening on March 1st.

Residents interested in getting involved can do so in a number of ways. Those interested in attending the event can purchase a ticket for $30 at Dailey’s Independent Grocers, Porcupine Timber Mart or at the Native Friendship Centre. You can also support the efforts of the event with a monetary or silent auction donation by emailing [email protected].
