St. Paddy’s Day celebration on Saturday in Downtown Timmins

Be on the lookout for leprechauns on Third Ave. on Saturday.  They’re liable to pop in on the winter version of the Downtown Urban Market, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Downtown Timmins executive director Noella Rinaldo says there will be Irish stew, baking, and green items made especially for the occasion.

Two farmers will be selling meat.  A third one – an alpaca farmer from Val Gagné – will also be there, but not selling meat.

“So Dream Acres Alpaca will be bringing her knitting and all her wonderful weaving she made with the alpaca fur,” Rinaldo explains.

Irish music will be provided all day by a fiddler, who you will forgive for not having an Irish name.

“We’re very excited that we have Alexandre Bujold,” Rinaldo enthuses, “who’s an amazing fiddler and he’ll be there to kind of help to bring in the St. Patrick’s Day feeling.”

…And outside the store, you’ll be able to try maple taffy made in the snow.
