Inhabitants of the final frontier do charity work here in Timmins

You might have done a double take, whenever you’ve spotted Klingons in Timmins.

They do walk among us. When they’re not defending their home planet, they’re here on Earth, supporting charitable causes.

The dozen or so you see in Timmins are members of the Klingon Assault Group Costuming Club.  Their commanding officer is Karen Hutchison, whose Klingon name is Lt. Cmdr. tlharnoQ.

Their latest good deed was supporting the Lions Club’s campaign to gather used eyeglasses to go to the needy all over Earth.

“Here in Timmins, Value Village was kind enough to help us gather glasses,” says Hutchison/ tlharnoQ, “and we were able to bring 197 pairs to the Lions Club collection point, which is at R&S Vision.”

The commanding officer adds, “We like to go out and support local chairites.  People can find us on Facebook at facebook.com/timminsklingons if they want to request that we show up at their event or help them out in any way.”

My Timmins Now Dot Com spotted a couple Klingons recently at the Coldest Night of the Year walk put on by Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins.
