My Timmins Now Dot Com and 93.1 Moose FM have moved into one of three finalist spots for Timmins business of the year with between six and ten employees.
That award is among a dozen that will be handed out in May at the Timmins Chamber of Commerce Nova Awards gala at the McIntyre Arena, the only venue in the city large enough.
Cheryl Holland of was one of three Chamber ambassadors to deliver the news to our office today.
“Scotiabank Business of the Year. Vista Radio is a finalist and it’s wonderful.”
Holland says the Nova gala is the social event of the year in the city. Her assessment: “It’s pretty swanky. It’s lots of fun and you kind of forget you’re in an arena.”
The theme this year is “Nova-opoly”, based on the Monopoly board game.
Holland has some wise advice for anyone wanting to be part of it. “Reserve your tables (laughs).”
