Few people would argue that the best place for a monument of sorts to Lou Battochio is at the McIntyre Arena.
The long-time city councillor representing Schumacher and prolific volunteer for hockey at the Mac died in November.
Tonight, council will entertain a motion to put up a banner in memory of the man known as “The Mayor of Schumacher” at the community centre.
Among other things on the council agenda tonight: A request from Timmins-Porcupine Search and Rescue for space to store equipment and train its members; and a final decision on the lease for the gymnastics facility at the Confederation Recreation Complex.
