Timmins is getting over $600K from FedNor

Timmins is getting over half a million dollars from FedNor. FedNor Minister, Greg Rickford, was in town last night to make the announcement. The money is going towards creating job opportunities for recent grads.

$126,000 is going into internships, while NEONet gets $500, 000.

NEONet, an ICT (Information & Communication Technology) company works with the private and public sectors on infrastructure development across the North East. They help small and medium sized businesses use e-business tools like search engine optimization, and social media integration.

The four companies receiving funding for internships are the Mattagami Conservation Authority, the Venture Centre, NORCAT, and the Timmins Economic Development Corporation. Each company will get $31, 500 a year for each intern.
