A pitch to control the mosquitos and black flies was heard at city council. Monday’s meeting had representatives from G-D-G Environment proposed their business. Gregory Roy from G-D-G says they use an environmentally friendly spray to control, not eradicate.

Roy goes on to say the spray reduces bugs by 80%. He also says it is safe for other animals, and will only affect the targeted bugs.

The toxin B-t-i kills larvae before they hatch. It has been used in Quebec since the 80’s.
Council proposed the company come back to give a detailed report on cost and environmental impacts.
