SNOWMOBILE TRAILS OPEN BETWEEN TIMMINS, I.F. & COCHRANE

Snowmobile trails connecting Timmins, Iroquois Falls and Cochrane are now open and in “green” – or good condition for most of them.

That’s according to Timmins Snowmobile Club president Raymond Corbeil: “The main artery that goes to Cochrane, that’s open.  The one that goes to Iroquois Falls is also complete.”

Trail grooming is also underway out towards Foleyet.  However, Corbeil says that when that stretch opens depends on certain obstacles.

”There’s a couple places where the beavers are a problem,” he tells My Timmins Now Dot Com, “because they made dams and there’s too much water.  So we have to check to see if we can cross those areas.”

Corbeil adds that regular grooming will probably happen every two days, at least for the rest of the school holiday.

The Timmins club is waiting for clubs further south to open their sections of the trails, so they can also interconnect.
