LIVING SPACE EXPANDS INTO DAYTIME PROGRAMMING

Giant steps have taken place lately, as Living Space in Timmins moves beyond being an overnight shelter into daytime programming.

Co-ordinator Jason Sereda says a wide range of community organizations have partnered with Living Space to offer support and outreach, every weekday afternoon from one until four.

“So that includes organizations like the Canadian Mental Health Association, South Cochrane Addiction Services, the Porcupine Health Unit, the friendship centre and a host of others,” Sereda notes.

And it’s the first step towards even more programming.

“The next step,” the co-ordinator says, “ will be expanding into the morning, so seven o’clock to one o’clock.  So I’m looking for volunteers right now.  So if people want to check out our website and our facebook page, we’ll have some information posted there on how to get involved.”

That website Sereda mentioned: http://livingspacehub.org/
