News It’s no surprise Highway 101 needs some upgrades SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Dec. 23rd, 2014 Timmins is looking into how much it would cost to fix Highway 101. The Connecting Link runs from the ONR Railway Crossing to Kamiskotia Road, and is just over 20-kilometres. The city has filed a Request for Proposal, which will have a consultant do a study on the road. The document says the underground infrastructure in many areas has reached its useful service life and is in need of replacement. The province used to cover 90% of the cost, but now it is fully on taxpayers. The issue will come up at council to see if there is any wiggle room.
