Giving Tuesday is this Tuesday, November 27, and a group effort to help the poor in Timmins is hoping you give to its Feed It Forward campaign.
Jenn Vachon is the chair of the Farm to Fork Market Dollar project. Is purpose is to provide fresh local fruit, veggies and meat to poor people in our community.
Vachon is also executive director of of Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins. “So we thought we would get a head start and take advantage of the Giving Tuesday idea and try to get some funds raised for our 2019 campaign.”
Vachon says Tuesday’s target is to raise $1,000. “We have a Facebook page called ‘Feed It Forward on Giving Tuesday’ that anyone can search for, and find the link for our Giving Tuesday donation page on there as well.”

“This past summer,” Vachon notes, “we were able to raise about $6,000 for the Feed It Forward campaign. So we would like to raise at least that much for the 2019 campaign as well.”
The 60-dollar bundle vouchers are good at both the downtown Urban Park and the Mountjoy Farmers Market.
