Enforcement Check Stop Finds Hunters Obeying the Rules

Many hunters seem to be obeying the rules this year.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says it held a road-check in Cochrane on October 30th. The MNRF says conservation officers were set up at the weigh scale station checking for compliance with hunting regulations, particularly those related to moose hunting season.

It says a total of 560 vehicles were stopped with 15 being sent to a secondary inspection. The MNRF says after a nine-hour operation, no charges were laid.

The organization says this is great, but remember if you see any violation you should call the MNRF tip line at 1-877-847-7667 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
