Timmins will be honouring Canada’s Armed Forces this weekend.

The community will be celebrating two Remembrance Day ceremonies at 11:00am on Sunday at both the Timmins and South Porcupine cenotaphs. Both Legion Branches 88 and 287 say this Remembrance Day is special because it marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1. Legion representatives say it’s important to take a moment to honour those who are fighting for our freedoms.

This year’s ceremonies will include speeches, a colour guard, reading of the names and moment of silence.
