Timmins Police Constable Rick Lemieux was arrested Thursday as part of a fundraiser.
He was charged with excessive smiling, and bail was set at $3, 000.
The mock arrest was in support of the Cochrane District Crime Stoppers. He was taken into custody by Nick Osborne from the Timmins Police & Crime Stoppers, and Gillian Coughlin from the South Porcupine detachment of the OPP.
Crime Stoppers hopes to continue doing mock arrests on a monthly basis to keep fundraising for their programs.
