Construction Continues at Hollinger Park

Hollinger Park remediation work is continuing this week.

The City of Timmins says this is a five-year plan to revitalize the park because previous tests showed elevated metal levels in the park’s soil. The city says this week crews will be working:

– A geotextile fabric will be installed this week, prior to spreading the fill material on the North field;
– The installation of a new water line for the splash pad and skate path is near completion;
– Sodding will begin on the baseball field has begun by Niagara North;
– Work on the grandstands continues by Praztek Construction;
– Work on the electrical upgrades at the park has begun;
– Hydro Seeding will begin shortly by LaFleur Gardens.

The city is reminding you that the entire park and parking lot are now closed for construction. There is no public access to any part of the park, other than the Cenotaph. It says the Hollinger Mini-Putt is now closed for the season.
