It’s the End of the Season for the Local Splash Pads

As the summer is starting to come to an end, the City of Timmins is starting on winter preparations.

Starting Monday, the splash pads at both Hollinger Park and White Water Park will be closing for the season. The city says this is so crews can start working on winterizing the pads so the equipment doesn’t get damaged when the water starts to freeze.

Crews say the will also be closing the Hollinger Park playground while it works on some upgrades, including adding a new swing set. This is part of the Hollinger Park remediation work that will be ongoing throughout the fall season. Other remediation work happening this week includes:

– More fill will be stockpiled and spread.
– Work on the grandstands continues by Praztek Construction. The overhead roof beams are being
sandblasted and painted.
– Topsoil will begin to be delivered and spread on the south fields.

City Hall says it is apologizing for the inconvenience.
