Students Step into Others Shoes for 24 Hours

Students will be stepping into the shoes of a local homeless person.

A group of students from Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault will live the life of a homeless person for 24 hours on Thursday, including sleeping outside in cardboard boxes. The next morning the teens will go to their classes and try to complete their daily schedule. The school says this is to give the students a better understanding of everyday challenges without a proper night’s sleep or meals.

The students will be outside on Theriault Boulevard from 5:00pm until 6:00pm to raise awareness and collect donations for homelessness in Timmins. Each student is being asked to raise a minimum of $75 with all the proceeds going to The Lord’s Kitchen, The YO-Mobile, Project Love and The Timmins Food Bank.
