Welcome to Timmins Night is Back

Welcome to Timmins Night is celebrating 25 years this year.

The free event hosted by the Timmins and District Multicultural Centre features over 115 local non-profit organizations and resources in the city. Strategic Initiative and Outreach Intern Ashley Dickinson says it’s a great way for new, old and future residents to learn about what is available in Timmins. “I moved here from Toronto about eight years ago and I’m still learning about services that are being offered that no one knows about,” says Dickinson. “Everybody needs help from time to time, so it’s good to know about the different help that’s out there.”

Dickinson says 25 years is a great feat. She says every year the event is getting bigger and better. “It must be helping the community and residents looking for things, connecting and networking.”

Admission to the event is free, but the centre is asking for either a non-perishable food item or a new or washed stuffed animal. The food items will be donated to the Timmins Foodbank and the stuffed animals will be given to the Cochran District EMS. Welcome to Timmins Night will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the McIntyre Curling Club.
