NE LHIN is looking at the past and future of Northern hospitals

The North East Local Health Integration Network has launched a new book. It focuses on the history and transformation of 20 hospitals across the region, and asks the question, what’s next. CEO of the North East LHIN (lynn), Louise Paquette, says the North East is a new crossroads with patient care. Paquette says the challenge is to contribute to the care of an older population, and the desire of people to remain living at home. She also says this is a call to collectively contemplate what our community hospitals’ roles can be so that they can best meet the needs of fellow Northerners.

The Minister of Health and Long Term Care, Dr. Eric Hoskins says the book opens a very important conversation about their future role in providing the best model of care to meet the needs of Northerners

The book is called Community Hospitals and Health Care in Northeastern Ontario: Transforming the Patient Experience
