3-On-3 Basketball Tournament Hits the Streets this Weekend

Timmins annual three-on-three basketball tournament returns this weekend.

Third Avenue will be closed on Saturday while teams of three face off in a day long tournament. Organizer Adam Presseault says this is the ninth year he is bringing the unique game to the Timmins Urban Park.

Presseault says there will be music blasting and refreshments all day long. He says it’s really a day of fun for players as well as spectators.

Presseault says the tournement is open to all ages. He says he will divide the teams up into multiple divisions based on age so the games are fair. He says last year there were 16 teams and three courts set up.  Right now there are seven teams signed up. Presseault says he expects to see that number grow as we get closer to Saturday.

The tournament will run from 9:00am to 4:30pm and costs $20 per person. Presseault says you can have as many people as you want on your team, but there is only three people on the court at a time. There will be prizes for the top three teams in each division.

Registration information can be found on the tournament’s facebook page, or you can call Presseault at 705-262-5589.
