A Collision Between a Car and a Cyclist Serves as a Safety Reminder According to TPS

A collision between a car and cyclist has sent one person to the hospital.

The Timmins Police Service says a 17-year-old girl was taken to the hospital yesterday morning with some minor injuries after getting hit by a car at the intersection of Mountjoy Street North and Borden Avenue. Police say the investigation is still on going and no charges have been laid yet.

Communication Coordinator Marc Depatie says this serves as a reminder for cyclists to pay attention and wear all your safety gear.

Depatie says drivers also need to pay extra attention because there are typically more bikers on the streets this time of year.

He says as long as everyone does their part, both drivers and cyclists will get home safe and enjoy their summer’s.
