A forest fire near Timmins is growing, but now under control.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says about 25 kilometers northwest of Kamiskotia Lake, crews are working on putting out the fire. The MNRF says it was 56 hectare blaze, and has grown to 62 hectares. Crews say the big difference is that firefighters have more control over the fire now.
The MNRF says it will continue to work on putting out the blaze.
This is one of 17 active forest fires in the northern Ontario region including areas around Sudbury, North Bay and Parry Sound.
