Pinecrest Students Celebrate a Win with Breakfast

Students made sure they ate the most important meal of the day thanks to the Canadian Red Cross.

Elementary students at Pinecrest won a french toast breakfast through the organization’s Bowlful of Breakfast campaign that ran in September. The school’s Student Nutrition Program participated in the cereal and fundraising campaign, entering it into a contest. The Red Cross says it randomly pulled the name of a series of schools that entered.

The Red Cross says during the campaign held at Independent stores across the district, $600  and 300 boxes of healthy cereal was collected. The organization says this went towards running the Student Nutrition Program’s across the schools in the district.

Red Cross Food and Logistics Coordinator Justin Bonney says this program shows how important it is for kids to eat in the morning.
