MP Charlie Angus Receives Social Justice Award

The Timmins-James Bay MP is being recognized with a social justice award.

Charlie Angus has been given the 2018 “Voice for the Voiceless” Award by the Anatolia Muslim Centre in Mississauga. Angus says the award was given to him because of his work for speaking up on issues in Ottawa like better education and suicide prevention for Indigenous youth and palliative care.

Angus says he was honoured to be given this award at an interfaith dinner that included representatives from the Christian, Jewish and Hindu communities. He says this award is definitely something that wasn’t expected.

He says he will continue to fight for what is right for the province and northern Ontario.
